September 2016 St John Ambulance Youth Group visit
The St John Ambulance Youth Group came to visit this evening, bringing a group of very excited kids of varying ages. Paul, Mel, Charley and Colin were on hand to make sure everything ran well. No disasters and everything was well received.
Paul had a steam-powered gimmick sitting on a mug of hot water, and explained about several different scales of locos. He also had a demo set up of DCC, allowing the children to take the controls.

We had residents and carers from Jane Winstone Retirement Village come and visit for a couple of hours. They were very fascinated, and several shared stories of their own, and even their parents, days on the railway.
March 2016 Tot Town Railway visit
This evening members of both WMR&ES and Steamrail went to Tot Town Railway at Kowhai park, which is run by the local Lions Foundation. We were told about the railways history and beginnings, and members were allowed to drive. Everyone had a great time, and we decided to hold the Christmas barbeque there later in the year.
